Kids were built to move — not to sit. Grassroots gets them off screens and into action through games, challenges, and activities that build critical thinking, teamwork, and a love of being active. Fun is the strategy. A healthier life is the result.
Grassroots Sports & Fitness exists because kids deserve more than a screen. We pull them out of the scroll and into environments where they have to think, move, communicate, and compete — together.
Our programs use games, multi-sport activities, and creative movement challenges to develop the whole child. Every session is designed so that kids are solving problems, making decisions under pressure, talking to teammates, and most importantly — having so much fun they forget it's exercise.
We also offer individual basketball skills training for Youth through Collegiate level players — elite one-on-one development from a proven Division I coach, built to take serious players to the next level.
Whether your child is a future athlete or just a kid who needs to get moving — there's a place for them at Grassroots.
Multi-sport play and creative activities that make movement irresistible.
Challenges that require kids to think fast, adapt, and make smart decisions.
Learning to connect, encourage, and work together — life skills built through sport.
Replacing screen time with movement they'll actually want to keep doing.
Grassroots brings development directly to your organization. No travel needed — we deliver structured athletic training where kids already feel comfortable.
Our flagship program. Kids rotate through different games, sports, and movement challenges every session — so it never gets old. Designed to get them hooked on being active and away from screens.

3rd Grade – 12th Grade ⏱ 30–45-minute sessionsElite one-on-one skill development for serious players — ball handling, footwork, scoring, and position-specific training. Individually tailored to each athlete's strengths, weaknesses, and goals.
Youth – Collegiate Level ⏱ 45–60-minute sessionsThis isn't just a philosophy — it's backed by decades of science. What happens when we get kids moving and away from screens isn't just physical. It changes how they think, how they connect, and who they become.
The American Academy of Pediatrics found that children with more than 2 hours of daily screen time show lower cognitive development scores, reduced attention spans, and higher rates of anxiety and depression than their more active peers.
A landmark NIH study found that children who met physical activity guidelines scored up to 20% better on cognitive tests — including memory, attention, and problem-solving — compared to inactive children. Exercise literally builds the brain.
Research from the Journal of Youth and Adolescence shows that children who participate in team sports and group physical activity are 3 times more likely to develop strong communication and leadership skills compared to sedentary peers.
The CDC and WHO both recommend that children ages 6–17 get at least 60 minutes of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity every day. Currently, less than 25% of American children meet that benchmark.
Multiple peer-reviewed studies confirm that physically active children earn higher grades, have better attendance, and demonstrate stronger classroom behavior — regardless of academic background or socioeconomic status.
Harvard research shows that children who develop active habits before age 12 are significantly more likely to remain physically active into adulthood — reducing lifetime risk of obesity, heart disease, and depression.
The window to build these habits is right now. Every session at Grassroots is an investment in a healthier, smarter, more confident kid — for life.
Get Your Child MovingCoach Sherrie Tucker didn't just play the game — she dominated it.
A Philadelphia native and four-year standout at Coppin State University, Tucker built one of the most decorated careers in Lady Eagles history. A two-time MEAC Player of the Year, two-time NCAA Tournament competitor, and three-time team MVP, her impact was so profound that Coppin State retired her jersey No. 40 — making her one of only two women's basketball players in program history to receive that honor. She was later inducted into the Coppin State University Athletics Hall of Fame.
After college, Tucker took her game overseas, playing professionally for the Etzella Basketball Club in Luxembourg — where she averaged a double-double in league play — before returning stateside with one thing on her mind: giving back.
Her coaching journey began in the grassroots — working with AAU programs, leading a middle school boys team, and eventually climbing the Division I ranks as an assistant and associate head coach at Longwood University, Texas A&M–Corpus Christi, and Bethune-Cookman University. At every stop, her focus was the same: develop the whole athlete, not just the player.
Then came the moment everything clicked.
After years of working within other people's programs, Coach Tucker realized the impact she wanted to make couldn't be contained to a gym or a roster. It needed to reach further — into schools, daycares, and communities where kids don't always get access to quality athletic development. So she built it herself.
Grassroots Sports & Fitness is that vision made real — a program designed to meet youth where they are, develop them into confident movers and thinkers, and prove that every child is an athlete waiting to be discovered.
No hidden fees. No long-term contracts. Just quality coaching that delivers results — built to be accessible for every family and organization.
One-on-one elite skill development tailored to your athlete. Every session is built around their specific strengths, weaknesses, and goals.
Flexible weekly and monthly programs brought directly to your organization. Billing is handled between Grassroots and each parent or client — zero financial administration on your end.
Simple for everyone involved. Our partnership model is designed to be effortless for schools, daycares, and youth organizations — we handle all billing directly with parents and clients. You provide the space and the kids. We handle everything else. Reach out — let's grow together.
These aren't just players — they're proof. Every one of them put in the work in individual sessions with Coach Tucker, grew into confident, well-rounded individuals, and went on to compete at the highest levels of the game. The roots were always there — we just helped them grow.
"The individual sessions with Coach Tucker were unlike anything I'd experienced. She broke my game down piece by piece and rebuilt it. I went from a junior college transfer to the leading scorer and rebounder at a Division I program. She gave me the tools to compete at the highest level — and I took them all the way to Barcelona."
"What separates Coach Tucker is how personal the training is. She studies you. She knows what you need before you even ask. My vision and decision-making on the court grew more in my time working with her than in any other period of my career. She makes you see the game differently."
"Coach Tucker's individual training gave me the confidence to know I belonged at the highest level. She challenged me every session and refused to let me be comfortable. I went from a small-town girl from McMullen County to a two-time conference champion and a professional player in Europe. The work we put in together was a huge part of that journey."
"Coach Tucker knows how to develop big players in ways most coaches don't. She sharpened my post moves, cleaned up my footwork, and turned my defensive instincts into a weapon. Helping this program reach its first NCAA Tournament was a dream — and the individual development she invested in me made me ready for that moment."
"Coach Tucker prepares you for life after basketball, not just the game itself. The discipline, the attention to detail, the accountability she demands in individual sessions — those are the habits that carried me through my career at BCU and into coaching. She builds complete athletes and complete people."
"Every session with Coach Tucker had a purpose. She didn't waste a minute. She identified exactly where my game needed to grow and went to work on it relentlessly. That focus and professionalism is what took me from a college player to a professional one. I wouldn't be playing overseas without the foundation she helped me build."
"Four years at Bethune-Cookman and Coach Tucker's individual training was the constant that kept pushing my development forward. She never let me settle. When I had a career night, it didn't feel like a surprise — because we had put in that work. She prepares you to perform when it matters most."
No guessing, no surprises. Here's a clear picture of what your athlete or organization will experience with Grassroots — from the first session to the lasting impact.
We start with a conversation about your athlete — their position, goals, strengths, and where they want to improve. No session is built without understanding the player first.
Coach Tucker evaluates the athlete in person — watching their footwork, ball handling, and decision-making to build a clear picture of where they are and where they need to go.
Every athlete gets a training plan built specifically for them — no cookie-cutter workouts. Drills, focus areas, and progressions are tailored to their game and their goals.
Sessions build on each other. Coach Tucker tracks progress, adjusts the plan, and pushes the athlete to the next level. You'll see the difference — on the court and in their confidence.
No tryouts, no prior experience required. Kids arrive, get moving immediately, and are welcomed into a group where everyone belongs. The energy is high from minute one.
Sessions rotate through different activities — multi-sport games, movement challenges, team competitions, and drills. No two sessions feel the same, so kids stay excited and engaged.
Every activity is designed to make kids use their brains, not just their bodies. They solve problems on the fly, lead teammates, and make decisions under pressure — building skills that last beyond the session.
Over time, parents notice the difference — not just physically, but in how their child carries themselves. More confident, more social, more willing to put down the phone and get moving. That's what we're really building.
Reach out and we'll schedule a call. We learn about your organization, your students, and your schedule — then design a program that fits seamlessly into what you already do.
No field trips, no logistics. Coach Tucker arrives at your facility on scheduled days with everything needed — curriculum, equipment, and energy. Your staff doesn't have to lift a finger.
Kids get structured, high-quality athletic instruction from a credentialed coach. Every session is age-appropriate, engaging, and built around real athletic development — not just gym time.
Billing goes directly between Grassroots and families. Scheduling is built around your calendar. You add something remarkable to your program — without adding to your workload.
